Estoy intentando encontrar una forma de extraer información sobre mis tablas en SQL Server (2008).
los datos que necesito debe incluir la descripción de la mesa (relleno de la propiedad Descripción de la ventana Propiedades), una lista de campos de esa tabla y sus respectivos tipos de datos .SQL Server: extraer metadatos de tabla (descripción, campos y sus tipos de datos)

¿Hay alguna manera de extraer estos metadatos? Supongo que tengo que usar algunos sys sp pero no estoy seguro de cuál.

Para llegar los datos de la descripción, desafortunadamente tiene que usar sysobjects/syscolumns para obtener los identificadores:

Si está sacando sus consultas usando código java, hay una gran clase que se puede usar, ResultSetMetaData, que puede recuperar nombres de columnas y las propiedades de las columnas (tipo y longitud).
