ggplot2: cómo ajustar los tipos de línea + orden en la leyenda?

Me gustaría ajustar los tipos de línea en el siguiente ggplot. Por lo tanto, presento otra columna en data.frame df para representar el tipo de línea, pero una vez que la convierto en un factor, el tipo de línea en lugar de "método" aparece en la leyenda ... (ver prueba 3).

¿Cómo puedo obtener "método" en la leyenda? Al final me gustaría ser capaz de

1. elegir libremente el tipo de línea,
2. elegir libremente el orden en que estos tipos de línea aparecen en la leyenda, y
3. tienen el correspondiente "método" se muestra como la leyenda texto.

Uso method como el linetype, pero luego asignar manualmente a los tipos de líneas que desee. No necesita introducir otra variable de esta manera.

    geom_point() +

    scale_linetype_manual(breaks=c("a","b"), values=c(5,3))
