PHP ¿Enviar correo electrónico con archivo PDF adjunto sin crear el archivo?

Genero PDF usando FPDF y necesito enviarlo por correo electrónico a un cliente.

Como puedo generar los PDF desde la base de datos, no quiero guardar todos los PDF localmente, ya que saturará mi servidor.

Deseo poder enviar un correo electrónico con un PDF adjunto. ¿Necesito crear un archivo temporal, luego eliminarlo cada vez o hay otra forma de hacerlo?

Definitivamente es posible. Puede tomar cualquier clase de correo de PHP que pueda manejar archivos adjuntos, y reescribir la función addAttachment donde lee los datos del archivo para aceptar su variable en su lugar.

Zend_Mail parece ser capaz de digerir cadenas como archivos adjuntos directamente, sin ninguna reescritura.
